Osteoarthritis is the most common non-communicable disease in older adults, but can also affect individuals as young as 30 years of age.
International clinical guidelines recommend patient education, exercise and weight loss as first line treatment for osteoarthritis.
Based on your starting physical capacity, Physio Jonathan will design an exercise program for you which will be performed under supervision. These exercise sessions are supervised and will occur weekly for 8 weeks to improve muscle control, strength of the joint, leading to symptom reduction and improved quality of life.
After 8-weeks, you will be encouraged to continue to be physically active and to exercise by yourself or in a group, so as to maintain the long term health benefits.
